Elan Interiors was founded in Nairobi in 2014 with a simple, uncompromising vision: to create objects of quiet luxury that stand the test of time.
Sustainably sourced, patiently dried.
Every table, sideboard, and bed starts with the wood. We work exclusively with sustainably harvested East African hardwoods, including mahogany, cedar, walnut, and teak.
Our lumber is air-dried in our yard for up to two years, then kiln-finished to ensure maximum stability. We never use veneers or particleboard. Each piece is solid timber through and through, showing the unique growth patterns, knots, and history of the tree.

In our Nairobi workshop, master joiners work alongside modern architects to design pieces that fit the rhythm of contemporary spaces while employing centuries-old assembly methods.
We reject screws, nails, and industrial brackets where traditional mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, and bridal joints provide superior strength. This patient construction method allows the wood to naturally expand and contract with environmental changes, ensuring the piece never warps or wobbles.
